San Miguel Road Neighborhood Frozen in Fear Friday Night

The Sheriff's helicopter circled round and round a ten-block area this past Friday evening . . .
"37 yr old felony suspect . . . African American . . . Brown work boots . . . Brown pants . . . If seen call 911"—Helicopter Announcement

Here is the helicopter that was used:

People didn't know what to think. Neighbors called neighbors. No one really had any information. I love how this community comes together and tries to help one another however they can.
The helicopter message was loud and clear. But I did learn an interesting tidbit for you to file away. If you can't hear the message, text "Hello" to 858.866.4356 and they will send the message to your phone.
One neighbor told me he saw a slew of Chula Vista police cars from the Camp Schultz Dog Boarding to the roadway east. I could see about five or six patrol cars with lights flashing from where I was.
Another resident told me they had heard that the felon ran out of a home on the south side of San Miguel Road.
That resident sent me a Ring™ video at 07:21 PM. It appeared that the man they were looking for was walking up a driveway from the 5600 block of San Miguel Road. The resident's wife was already on the phone with the police.

The felon jumped their fence and then another fence into the adjoining property. It is believed that he then proceeded to the back of the property that connects to a horse trail in the Bonita Highlands area and leads out to Central Avenue.

The helicopter then moved to the Central Avenue area. The announcer was heard to say that "the dog will bite you" so I guess they sent the K-9 officers in to fish the guy out.
I spoke to dispatch twice yesterday trying to find out more information to add to this article. Day Dispatch told me to call after 6:30PM because evening officers would know more. Evening Dispatch told me to call back tomorrow and request a report.
Not sure if it's worth it. The felon has long ago left the community. And the Sunnyside community is safe and quiet once more.
