Did you know that Bonita has peaceful protesters? They routinely gather at the intersection of Otay Lakes Road and Bonita Road. They sit or stand on the sidewalk facing the traffic. They hold signs. Vehicles honk in support. The constant honking and police whistle are not sounds that we are used to around here.

The protest is about fifteen feet away from a hiking/biking/horse trail. Would those sounds be enough to spook a horse? Let’s hope that we don’t find out.
At the trail, one of them propped up a handmade sign, which said, 10:00-11:00AM Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Right Here.
So, they will be back.

Our semi-rural equestrian community is unique. Sweetwater Valley is a lovely place to be with many things to do. The Chula Vista Golf Course is right there. Bonita-Sunnyside Library and the Bonita Museum are within sight. Rohr Park or Sweetwater Regional Park are a couple miles down the road. People come here from everywhere.
I hope that these protesters look beyond that street intersection. This valley has more to offer.
