Continuation of Wild & Crazy Police Chase Through Sunnyside

There's more to the story about the wild and crazy Police chase through Sunnyside. I spoke with an eye-witness last night.

The Cheetos truck (not Frito-Lay as previously reported) driver stopped for gas in Chula Vista. When he went inside to pay, he left the keys in the ignition. I bet he never does that again.

The truck thief saw his opportunity, jumped in the truck and drove away. That's probably when the ASTREA was employed, to track the thief as he fled.

One neighbor had seen the stolen truck driving on Jonel Way headed east (dead end). By the time Mr. Dead End turned around to leave the area, he could probably hear the posse-in-mass on Proctor Valley Road zeroing in.

Mr. Dead End ducks into Speyers Way (another dead end). It's obvious at this time that he is unfamiliar with the area he has picked.

He abandons the Cheetos truck by the dumpster on the east side of Speyers and runs through two backyards on the west side of the street. The home at 3558 Speyers Way has a party going on in the backyard so he is viewed by many. At some point Mr. Dead End gets on top of the barn at that location. The guests probably thought their host had hired entertainment.

Next Mr. Dead End heads west and travels through at least one backyard of the houses on the east side of Proctor Valley Road. He then continues south and crosses into Chula Vista and works his way further east along Camino Mojave (another dead end).

Reaching the "end of the trail", he runs down Corte Saltero (his final dead end). His options quickly get limited to police capture or trying to run across the SR-125. Do you remember the 1981 Sega Video Arcade game "Frogger"?

Mr. Dead End was finally captured in the San Miguel Ranch community (located just above Bonita-Sunnyside) in Eastlake (Chula Vista).

Though seven resources (police units) were involved in the chase, I have been unable to find even a mere mention of this incident. Not even on citizen journalists" sites.
