It's getting crazy out there. You surely don't want to find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Both of these incidents happened in Chula Vista (close to Bonita) and were published by 619 News Media.

Pursuit Ends In Chula Vista Near Telegraph Canyon Road

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — New details have been released after video sent to 619 News Media showed the final moments of a vehicle pursuit that ended Tuesday morning in Chula Vista.

According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the incident occurred on April 22, 2026, around 11:53 a.m., when a motor officer conducting traffic enforcement near East H Street and Paseo Ranchero observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed.

The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver failed to yield and continued driving recklessly toward East J Street, eventually heading westbound.

Police say the driver was willfully evading and showed a disregard for public safety as the pursuit continued with emergency lights and sirens activated.

The pursuit came to an end at Telegraph Canyon Road and Paseo Ranchero, where the driver stopped at a red light. Officers then conducted a high-risk stop and safely took the driver into custody.

The suspect was identified as a 17-year-old male, who was arrested and booked on felony evasion charges.

No injuries were reported.

This updated information comes after earlier attempts to reach Chula Vista Police went unanswered at the time of the initial report.

And then there was this:

Masked Suspects Smash Into Galu Café In Chula Vista

CHULA VISTA, Calif. — A break-in at Galu Café on Third Avenue was caught on camera early Thursday morning, leaving the local business dealing with costly damage.

According to the café, the incident happened around 1:00 a.m. on April 23, when two masked suspects smashed through the glass door to get inside before rummaging through the shop.

Surveillance footage shows the suspects moving through the café, appearing to search for cash, but ultimately left empty-handed as no money was kept inside. While there were no reports of any loss, the damage to the business is expected to be costly.

The café says this is the first break-in in nearly two years, calling it frustrating not just for them, but for other small, locally owned businesses in the community.

The suspects were described as wearing dark clothing, face coverings, and black shoes. Vehicles possibly associated include white and black vans.

A report has been filed with the Chula Vista Police Department under case number CV2605357.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD).

The video shows the incident from breaking the window to ransacking the inside looking for cash.
