Today is Your Last Chance to Vote!

ree

Just a quick reminder that you need to vote no later than today if you want your voice heard as to who our newest District 1 Supervisor will be representing Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach, San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Barrio Logan, Logan Heights, East Village, Golden Hill, Grant Hill, Lincoln Park, Memorial, Mount Hope, Mountain View, Nestor, Sherman Heights, Southcrest, Stockton and unincorporated areas in South County, including Bonita, Sunnyside, Lincoln Acres, East Otay Mesa, La Presa and parts of Spring Valley.

These areas have been without a supervisor since Nora Vargas walked from the position in January 2025, two weeks after she was re-elected. Since that time, we have all been without representation.

No supervisor was supporting this immediate area when the Bonita-Sunnyside community had to go up against first the Planning Commission and later an appeal before the Board of Supervisors about building a huge self-storage facility in a rural-residential area. The other Supervisors could have cared less about what was to be built there and were reading messages on their cell phones during the presentation.

Supervisor Jim Desmond was our only hope to engage the others in meaningful discussion and he was in Washington, DC, trying to get someone to look at our Tijuana Sewage problem. The details for the proposed Quarry Road Self Storage may be found in the article "Bonita to Get the Taj Mahal of Self-Storage Facilities."

It's important that we vote someone in place who knows this area and cares about the future of Bonita-Sunnyside and surrounding areas. Your vote is critical and today is the last day you can use it.

The voting locations are listed below and are open from 7AM - 8PM.
