The Bat House: Your Garden's Best Friend

Hello, friend. When the sun goes down and your garden gets quiet, my family and I wake up. Our natural homes in the wild are disappearing, so when you put up a warm, safe bat house for us, it feels like a true miracle. It gives us a place to rest our tired wings and keep our little babies safe while you sleep. In return, we want to help your garden grow beautiful and strong.
We are tiny, but we have very big appetites! Every single night, just one of us can eat thousands of flying bugs. We love to snack on the mosquitoes that bite you, and we catch the moths and beetles that chew on your favorite flowers and vegetables. You won't need to use harsh chemicals or bug sprays anymore, because we will happily clean the night air for you.
We also leave behind a very special gift for your soil. Our droppings, which people call guano, are one of the best natural plant foods in the whole world. As it falls to the ground beneath our house, it gently feeds your dirt with rich nutrients. Your tomatoes, flowers, and trees will grow bigger and healthier just by having us live nearby.
If you want us to move in, please put our new house high up on a pole or the side of a building, about 12 to 20 feet in the air. We need to be high up so we are safe from danger and can drop down easily to start flying. We also love the morning sun to warm our little bodies, so please face our house south or southeast.
Please make sure there are no tree branches blocking our front door, and keep bright patio lights away from our home. It might take us a little while to find the wonderful house you put up for us. But when we do, we promise to be the best, quietest helpers your garden has ever had.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Got a mosquito problem? Get a bat house and your problem will disappear. My neighbor has a bat house. It's so cool to watch all the bats leave the house at dusk.
