Rescue Ambulance Can Travel Anywhere

OFF ROAD AMBO  Rescue Ambulance 61 out of Ocotillo Wells is one of the many specialized ambulances CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire uses. Built for the backcountry, this off road capable rig is a game changer for east San Diego County.

This rescue ambulance is a converted Ford Transit with larger wheels, enhanced suspension, and a front mounted winch so it can handle tight roads, steep grades, and uneven terrain. That means faster access to patients and quicker response times when the pavement disappears.

These ambulances are typically assigned to rural fire stations so remote communities and those awkward, way off the paved road locations are never out of reach. If you can get there, we can too!
