March 3rd SCPG Meeting Discusses Vacating Portion of Quarry/Sweetwater Roads, Bike Lanes and a New Two-Story Commercial Building on Bonita Road

NOTE: Tomorrow's Sweetwater Community Planning Group Meeting will be held at the Bonita-Sunnyside Library Community Room instead of the normal meeting place at the Sunnyside-Bonita Fire Station.
Public Comment
As always, the public may speak before the Planning Group on any subject within the Planning Group's purview that does not appear on that night's agenda. This public comment opportunity is for the sole purpose of expressing your view and no response will ensue.
Action item
Item 6 of the agenda is RP#2025-0013-SCPG-The County of San Diego is processing a request to vacate portions of Quarry Road and Sweetwater Road as conditioned by PDS for their (MUP-21-009) project.
(Translation: The county is asking for the portion of Quarry Road where it meets Sweetwater Road to be changed to a more perpendicular position for safer egress and ingress. These streets will be supporting more traffic once the Secure Self-Storage is completed.)
NOTE: As an action item, the SCPG Board will vote on this.
Non-Action Items
Item 7 discusses the Bonita Road Bicycle Safety Improvement Project.
Item 8 presents PDS2025-STP-25-021-Design plans for a two-story commercial building at 5202 Bonita Road.
NOTE: As non-action items, these two items will only be presented and will not be voted on.
This will be a busy night with four county employees presenting and one architect answering questions.
