Drop-Off Location for Retired American Flags

Life Scout David from Troop 300 completed an outstanding Eagle Scout project in partnership with the Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Protection District.
David designed and with help from his troop built a custom fire department–inspired Flag Retirement Collection Box along with a dedicated fire pit to ensure worn American flags can be respectfully retired according to proper protocol.
This project provides the Bonita community with a permanent and dignified location to drop off retired flags strengthening civic pride and honoring our nation’s traditions.
We’re grateful for David’s leadership, craftsmanship, and commitment to service. Projects like this remind us that the next generation is stepping up in meaningful ways.
