Chula Vista Implements New E-Bike Regulations

The City of Chula Vista has established a minimum age of twelve (12) to ride Class 1 or 2 e-bikes. There is no minimum age for riding e-bikes in other areas of the state of California.
The Chula Vista Municipal Code Chapter 10.73 Electric Micro-mobility Vehicles was created to ensure everyone rides safely. Whether you’re a driver sharing the road or a rider enjoying your e-bike, understanding the rules is key.
