Another Self-Storage Facility Breaks Ground

You buy your home next to a big, beautiful piece of open space. It is nine-acres large and teeming with all types of wildlife. Life is good.


Twelve years ago the Chula Vista City Council rejected a housing proposal there.


But the property was rezoned commercial in 2020 and now a 120,000-square-foot self-storage facility has broken ground.


QUESTION ONE: What's with the Self-Storage facilities grabbing up all the open space? Follow the money. Those developers have DEEP pockets.


QUESTION TWO: Who will use those 1,284 storage units? We're already buried in too many storage facilities.


QUESTION THREE: Where will all the wildlife go now? They're running out of open space to live in. Who advocates for the animals?
