Interacting with the link could expose victims to sensitive data breaches like credit card numbers or personal identification information.
Across the country, scammers are sending text messages posing as toll agencies, demanding immediate payments for alleged unpaid tolls.

According to Andrew Rayo, a Consumer Education Specialist, these communications aim to trick individuals into providing their financial or personal information.
Rayo explains that scams typically involve messages that include an alleged owed amount and a link to complete the payment.
As the specialist stated in a press release, the victims risk exposing sensitive information, such as credit card numbers or identification details, by clicking on the link, which could lead to the theft of money or identity.
Recommendations:
Avoid clicking on suspicious links: Ignore unsolicited messages that demand immediate payments.
Verify directly with the toll agency: Only use official phone numbers or websites to check for unpaid tolls.
Report and delete fraudulent messages: Use the reporting features on your device or forward the message to 7726 (SPAM) before deleting it.
