If you are available, you will want to attend this Thursday's—January 15th—meeting of the Chula Vista Parks and Recreation Commission.

Though there is no discussion on the horse arena listed on the agenda, Director Carson is speaking on the Recreation Program Plan Draft (Item 5.3) and Requested Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget and Capital Improvement Project for Parks & Recreation Department (Item 5.4).
I think it is advisable to be at the meeting just in case Director Carson decides to slip something in during one of those items. A room full of horse riders and concerned community will keep that in check. And we want to keep this topic front and center in the Commissioners' minds.
The horse arena may also find its way into the discussion as it was left up in the air during the December meeting.
During Public Comments at the beginning of the meeting, the public may address the Commission on any subject matter within the Commission’s jurisdiction that is not listed as an item on the agenda. Letting the commissioners know that we are still concerned about the missing horse arena on the Rohr Park Master Plan is a good idea.
Community has been informed that this issue would probably not be decided for one year. An abundance of speakers making comments and adding time to their meeting might help them to consider making that decision earlier. Once the area is back on the Master Plan, we can all relax a little.

This Commission will meet this Thursday—January 15—at 6:30PM at the Norman Park Senior Center Conference Room, 270 F Street, Chula Vista. You will find parking in the rear of the building.

Thank you to all who came out to talk or sit in the audience to support Rohr Park Horse Arena get put back into the Rhor Park Master plan.
