Where's Nora? Tracking the Evasive Ex-Supervisor

Nora Vargas at a SDC Supervisor meeting in 2024

Nora Vargas was the San Diego County Supervisor, District 1, who abruptly walked from her position in January 2025 after beating Alejandro Galicia in the November 2024 election. She received 127,708 votes (62.46%) and Galicia received 76,761 votes (37.54%).

She should have backed out two weeks earlier and let her opponent win.

She did not.

After taxpayers were stuck with paying more than $41,000 a month for her security detail and security vehicle, we're now paying $5-6 million for an unnecessary election that could have been avoided.

Since her "exit stage right"—used metaphorically to describe someone leaving a situation in an unceremonious or embarrassed manner—she has been elusive.

Here's her latest project . . . a "Leadership Lab Experiment'. With her moral compass, I don't believe that she should be anywhere near our youth.

I can't help but wonder what her "nuggets of wisdom in government, politics, nonprofits and navigating being the first!" consist of. You can tell by reading her post that she might have had a break in reality of who she thinks she is and who she truthfully is.

And she's "cat fishing" with the photo she's used . . . the photo she always puts out there. She probably hasn't resembled that photo in 20 or 30 years. The real photo of Ms. Vargas is shown at the top of this post, taken during a Board of Supervisors Meeting in 2024.

Buyer Beware! Let this serve as a warning to any "youth" that may be attracted to a mentorship with Ms. Vargas.

If only the District 1 residents had received a caution message before entering the voting booth back in 2020.
