Nothing to do today and suffering from holiday letdown? Bake a fruitcake, cut out some snowflakes or head to the San Diego Zoo . . . all activities associated with December 27.

As 2025 winds down, we're just four days from New Years Eve.

So let's look at what December 27 held in years' past.

2002 - The film based on a musical, "Chicago", was released. It starred Renée Zellweger, Richard Gere and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

1991 - Fried Green Tomatoes and The Prince of Tides were released in theaters. Fried Green Tomatoes starred Mary Stuart Masterson, Kathy Bates, Jessica Tandy and Mary-Louise Parker. Barbra Streisand and Nick Nolte were featured in The Prince of Tides.

1964 - The Supremes, think Diana Ross, first appeared on "The Ed Sullivan Show" singing "Come See About Me."

1952 – #1 Hit was I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. Written by Tommie Connor, it was first recorded by 13-year-old Jimmy Boyd in 1952 and has since been covered by many famous artists, including The Jackson 5 and The Ronettes. The image above was created by Norman Rockwell in 1955.

1932 - Radio City Music Hall opened in New York City. 1932 – Built during the Great Depression, Radio City Music Hall, a modern Art Deco theater in New York City, opened. It's well known for its high-kicking Rockettes.

1927 – Show Boat, considered to be the first American musical play, opened at the Ziegfeld Theatre on Broadway.

1904 - The original stage production of Peter Pan —the boy who refused to grow up—opened in London, England. Did you know that it was a play before it was a book? The novel came out seven years later in 1911. One more quick note, the name "Wendy" was essentially created for Peter Pan but did exist in rare cases before as a nickname for Gwendolyn in Welsh roots.

Everything on this day has been about entertainment. Probably needed a little relaxation after all the holiday stress!
