Just last Tuesday, July 1, the special election for the District 1 San Diego County Board seat concluded — and with it, remained a tax-happy majority on the Board of Supervisors. That means louder calls for potential new taxes: a tax on selling your home, a half-cent sales tax increase, and costly expansions to government bureaucracy — all on the table.
We're already one of the most expensive counties in America. Yet instead of relief, some are plotting to grow government, launch a consumer watchdog division, sue businesses and insurers, tap into county reserves, and impose new taxes — all without listing the cost to you.
I won’t stand for this. But I can’t do it alone.
With a 9-0 City Council, a supermajority at the State Capitol, and a county board majority since 2020, San Diego needs real checks and balances. I’m that check — but I need your help.
This moment demands more than one vote. It demands a movement and it demands people staying engaged in local politics.
I'm ready to fight back, but let’s block burdensome taxes and protect our wallets, our futures, and our community.
