Tesla Driver on I-805 Causes One Death and Six Injuries

ree

Last week's closure of I-805 for fifteen hours was due to a horrific accident. The incident happened on June 30th—a little after 8 pm—on southbound I-805 just north of Telegraph Canyon Road.

A 22 year old, speeding in a red Tesla, intentionally drove into the back of an unaware motorcyclist. The cyclist was probably just enjoying the ride on his new 2025 BMW bike.

But Ulysses Jiminez wasn't done on his rampage. He continued driving and hit a Ram 1500 truck, with six passengers inside.

California Highway Patrol reported that Jiminez tried to run from the scene but was captured and arrested by the troopers.

The motorcycle rider, 53-year-old Jorge Uribe from Chula Vista, died at the scene from his injuries.

The truck passengers were taken to local hospitals and treated for minor to moderate injuries.

“The California Highway Patrol is committed to conducting a complete and thorough investigation into this incident. We owe it to the victims and their families to ensure that all facts are uncovered, and justice is served.” —CHP Captain M. Vargas

Jiminez was charged with murder and several felonies. His Tesla will be his best prosecutor and his worst enemy as it records everything happening in four directions.
