Supervisor is Sending an SOS to Governor Newsom

Enough is enough.

Hydrogen sulfide is flooding our neighborhoods. At 4500 ppb, we aren’t just smelling a “rotten eggs” odor; we are breathing in a chemical that causes immediate sickness. Our children are waking up with headaches, our seniors are struggling to breathe, and our families are prisoners in their own homes.

SOS message to Governor Gavin Newsom

I am signaling an SOS message to Governor Gavin Newsom from our South San Diego residents. We are breathing in airborne poison, and we cannot wait any longer. The Governor MUST Declare a State of Emergency for the Tijuana River crisis NOW.

This has been named the worst environmental disaster in the United States, yet our cries for help are being met with silence. We deserve clean air and a safe community. We can’t help but wonder...why not us? Why not now?

San Diegans: We have to MAKE NOISE.

We cannot let this be ignored.

Here’s what I am asking you to do:

1. TAG @gavinnewsom and @cagovernor on my video posted on social media right now. You can find it on Instagram here, Facebook here, X here, and YouTube here

2. SHARE the video to your own social media platforms to wake up the rest of the state.

3. SIGN the emergency petition. Ask your friends, family, and neighbors to also sign it. [Click on the pink button below.]
