Ghost Gun Bust In Spring Valley
SPRING VALLEY — A search warrant tied to illegal firearm manufacturing led to an arrest Tuesday evening in East County.
On April 21, 2026, detectives from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station, along with the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail, served a warrant at a home in the 2800 block of Glen Canyon Circle as part of an ongoing investigation into un-serialized firearms, often referred to as “ghost guns.”
Authorities say 52-year-old Jason Jefferson was at the residence when deputies arrived.
Investigators confirmed Jefferson is a prohibited person, meaning he is legally barred from owning or possessing firearms.
During the search, detectives recovered:
• An un-serialized short-barreled rifle
• Extended magazines for rifles and handguns
• Ammunition
• Additional firearm components in various stages of manufacture
Jefferson was taken into custody without incident and booked into San Diego Central Jail on multiple firearm-related charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
