Things are getting a little pricey in San Diego.
Their city council just voted in a 6-3 vote to replace all the trash and recycle bins.
"San Diego finalized a controversial plan Monday to replace hundreds of thousands of trash and recycling bins — many of them new or only a few years old — and send the $65 million bill to customers."—David Garrick, The San Diego Union-Tribune
City crews will begin delivery on October 6th. They will pick up over 950,000 existing bins and "trash" them.
The new bin colors of light grey and light blue alert the refuse-pickup drivers who the paying customers are. Reminds me of the Dr. Seuss book about the "The Star-Belly Sneetches".
Read all about it in reporter David Garrick's "San Diego to charge trash customers $65M for new bins, in latest move on controversial pickup overhaul."
