Economic prosperity remains one of my top priorities for our residents. That means helping families stay afloat, expanding workforce pathways, and strengthening our small businesses. I recently met with members of the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce and the Otay Mesa Chamber of Commerce to discuss the work I’m advancing on the Board of Supervisors and the issues that matter most to our communities.
One project I’m advancing is a San Diego County Film Initiative, an effort to bring more of the film industry’s investment to our region. Los Angeles and Baja California are established production hubs, and San Diego has the talent, locations, and infrastructure to contribute to that growing ecosystem. Expanding production here strengthens our regional economy—supporting tourism, hospitality, local vendors, creatives, and small businesses while building career pathways for local students and entrepreneurs. Coupled with our $70 billion binational trade partnership with Baja California, this positions San Diego County for sustained growth and shared prosperity.
