They showed up in droves. It was amazing how many people were there!
Bonita Valley Horsemen (BVH) had sixty-one names on their sign-in list. They were joined by Tijuana River Valley Equestrian Association (TRVEA), Lakeside Frontier Riders (LFR), Sunnyside Saddle Club (SSC), Serenity and, of course, all those backyard horse people.
For two hours, they hoed, raked, pulled (weeds), dug, mowed and power-washed. They came to get the work done and saved the socializing until lunch was served.

Here are the Sunnyside Saddle Club Board members with Mayor McCann; Scott Aurich, President; Terri Dillion, Vice President and some SSC hard workers.
Jacqueline Espinoza—owner of the Serenity Bonita Horse & Human Development Center here in Bonita—came to help and brought along her Serenity workers.

Chuck Sanfilippo—candidate for Chula Vista District 1 (area around and including Rohr Park)—was present and is a BVH member. I see Chuck at almost every event I attend. But I have to admit that I have never see current District 1 Councilmember, Carolina Chavez, around.
Then it was time for lunch and as always, BVH put on quite the spread!

Terry Carr (BVH) did all the grilling and stirred the chili, too!

Thank you to Bonita Valley Horsemen, Sunnyside Saddle Club, Daniel Diaz (BVH) and Terry Carr (BVH) for all the wonderful photos!
