Public Webinar on ADU Ordinance Update

We want to hear from you! The County of San Diego Planning & Development Services (PDS) invites you to participate in an upcoming virtual webinar to share your input on options to support first-time homebuyers and promote homeownership through the separate sale of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).

On March 4, 2026, the Board of Supervisors adopted the separate sale of ADUs under Assembly Bill (AB) 1033. During the hearing the Board directed staff to return with implementation options that could further support first-time homebuyers and promote owner occupancy.

In response, PDS has developed a set of draft local implementation options and is seeking community input to help refine these approaches. During the webinar, staff will provide an overview of AB 1033 as adopted by the Board, review the project timeline and objectives, and present draft options for local implementation criteria focused on advancing homeownership opportunities.

Your feedback is an important part of this process and will help inform recommendations brought forward for the Board’s consideration.
