When the Legislature returns from summer recess on August 18, Senate Bill 79 will be taken up by the Appropriations Committee and then the full Assembly.
To educate residents and legislators on the profound effects that SB 79 would have on California's residents, United Neighbors has created a powerful new video.
Time is running out. Please help us spread the word...
Forward this email to your friends, family, and colleagues throughout California. (Residents in other cities may not be aware that they live "near transit" according to the expansive rules of SB 79.)
Here's a link to an interactive map. (Click the SEARCH icon to type an address.)
Post the video on NextDoor, Facebook, X, and other social media platforms. Here's a direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69DwSgJQ75o
Contact your California State Assemblymember AND Senator and tell them to... OPPOSE SB 79 (this should be your subject line).
Type your own message, or simply copy and paste this statement into the body of your email:
SB 79 is a land grab for investors disguised as "transit-oriented development." It will ruin existing neighborhoods while increasing the cost of land, pushing homeownership further out of reach for middle-class Californians. Please vote NO on SB 79 when it comes before you.
