In Loving Memory of Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Echeverria

April 19, 1944 – October 8, 2026

Maria Guadalupe Echeverria, lovingly known as Lupe, was born on April 19, 1944, in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico. As the eldest of four children, she began her journey as a daughter and sister before creating a family of her own.

As a young woman, Lupe married Alberto, and together they ventured out to begin a new chapter of their lives. Leaving her hometown in Mexico, she eventually made her way to Los Angeles, California, before settling in National City and later in Bonita, California, where she spent the final seven years of her life.

Throughout her life, Lupe held many meaningful roles—as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Each represented a chapter in her journey and the relationships that became part of her life story.

Lupe enjoyed the excitement of the casino and the lively sounds of mariachi music. These were among the pleasures she enjoyed throughout her life and the experiences that became part of her story.

Lupe was the mother of seven children. Her eldest son, Alberto, preceded her in death many years ago. She is survived by her six children: Sergio, Oscar, Eduardo, Sonia, Rene, and Leslie. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Her journey took her from San Juan de los Lagos to Los Angeles and eventually to San Diego County, where she made her home. Her life remains part of her family’s history, carried forward through the generations who follow her.

Though her passing leaves a void, Lupe’s memory will continue through the stories, moments, and memories held by her family, relatives, and friends. She will be remembered as an important part of the lives of those who shared her journey.

May Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Echeverria rest in eternal peace, embraced by God’s loving arms.

Forever remembered, forever loved.
