Dear Bonita-Sunnyside and Chula Vista Neighbors,
I would like to invite you to join me for a Public Safety Forum on Wednesday, June 3, from 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM, at Valley Vista Elementary School, located at 3724 Valley Vista Way, Bonita, CA 91902, in partnership with the Sweetwater Valley Civic Association (SVCA). The forum will start promptly at 6:40 PM after the SVCA's initial meeting.

Last February, I attended the Sweetwater Community Planning Group meeting, where one of the most consistent concerns raised by community members was public safety. I would like to continue that conversation by bringing together representatives from the California Highway Patrol, Sheriff’s Department, and Chula Vista Police Department, to hear concerns directly from residents, share available resources, and work collaboratively toward solutions that improve safety in our community.
I am also pleased that Chula Vista Councilmember Carolina Chavez will be joining us, as the Bonita-Sunnyside and Chula Vista communities border one another and share many of the same public safety concerns.
The Sweetwater Valley Civic Association (SVCA) promotes community spirit and civic pride by engaging with local officials, public safety agencies, and community organizations to enhance quality of life in the Sweetwater Valley community. They meet every first Wednesday of each month. I encourage you to attend their meetings and get involved with the community.
For more information or to share additional concerns, you can reach out to my Bonita-Sunnyside and Chula Vista representative, Marianne Delatorre, at (858) 221-2875.
Thank you for your continued commitment to our community. I hope to see you soon.
Warmly,
Paloma Aguirre
