Humane Society Transports 54 Horses to Willow Glen Equestrian Center

Over the past three days, our teams safely transported 54 horses from the Villa Chardonnay property in Julian to Willow Glen Equestrian Centre in El Cajon, marking another important milestone in their ongoing recovery!
Four additional horses moved to our Escondido Campus, where they will continue receiving behavioral and medical care from our teams. The relocation was carefully coordinated to ensure the safety and well-being of every horse while creating a more secure and accessible environment for the animals and the people caring for them. This new location allows our staff and volunteers to continue providing the individualized care, medical support and rehabilitation these horses need while preparing for their next chapters.
We are incredibly grateful to HERO Grounds for helping secure this new space and to Willow Glen Equestrian Centre for opening their doors to these horses and supporting their journey forward. Their efforts have been instrumental in helping us continue this lifesaving work.
Each horse’s journey is unique, and our teams continue to learn more about their individual needs, personalities and progress every day. From the staff and volunteers who show up daily to the incredible partners who make this work possible, we are grateful for everyone helping these animals move forward.
