The County of San Diego Planning & Development Services (PDS) invites you to attend a Housing Unlocked: Zoning & Development Designators 101 webinar on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
This webinar includes a brief introduction to the County’s Housing Unlocked project, which focuses on advancing the General Plan’s vision by ensuring zoning regulations effectively support a range of housing types and densities.
The primary purpose of this webinar is to provide an overview of the County’s Zoning Ordinance and, more specifically, the Development Designators. The Development Designators are a series of zoning regulations that establish how a project can be designed and built within the unincorporated area.
The webinar will focus on how the Zoning Ordinance works today, using clear terminology and visual examples to illustrate how Development Designators function in practice. This technical foundation is intended to provide a shared understanding that can inform future conversations about how the County’s Zoning Ordinance may be updated to allow for a wider range of housing options.
Throughout the webinar, participants will be able to submit comments and questions, and time will be set aside after the presentation to respond and hear feedback on experiences with the County’s housing development process.
