When reading over the December 16, 2025 Regular City Council Meeting Agenda, nothing jumped out at me to encourage me to attend. Most of the agenda was "yada yada yada" (to quote the Seinfeld cast) and not of great interest. Except for item 14.2 Conference with Legal Counsel -- Anticipated Litigation. "Anticipated" piques the curiosity and "litigation" really makes one take note. But this was discussed in Closed Session so we can only wonder.
A post on FaceBook by Darrell Jett clued me in to the idea that more was going on in this Council Meeting than I had picked up on.
"Thank you to the President of BVH and the three other members of the public who waited an hour and forty-five minutes to speak during the second round of public comment at tonight’s City Council meeting. Each spoke in support of keeping the Rohr Park horse arena in the park, describing it as the last remaining arena .. a true diamond in the park system .. loved by the community and a proven wildfire evacuation site."—Darrell Jett
Mr. Jett seems to have his finger on the pulse of Bonita-Sunnyside happenings. Thank you—Mr. Jett—for keeping the community apprised.
The speakers addressing the Rohr Park Horse Arena did not make it into the first Public Comments section as that 21 minute segment had been used. They spoke in the second session and their orations begin at the 1:43:05 marker in the video.
A big thank you to those who encouraged the Mayor and Council to leave the arena in place.
