Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves 21-Year-Old Dead on SR-125 in Spring Valley

A 21-year-old man from Spring Valley was killed early Wednesday morning after a hit-and-run crash on northbound State Route 125, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred around 5:32 a.m. on November 26, 2025, just south of Troy Street. CHP says the victim was driving a 2015 Lexus IS 250 when, for reasons still under investigation, he attempted to change lanes to the right and collided with an unknown light-colored sedan traveling alongside him.

The impact caused the Lexus to veer out of control, travel up the embankment, and slam into a tree. The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel. Cell phone footage sent to 619 News Media shows the aftermath — the vehicle wrapped around a tree in a devastating scene.

A witness reported seeing the light-colored sedan stop briefly on the east shoulder before fleeing. The driver, described as an adult Hispanic male, continued northbound on SR-125 and has not been located.

Investigators say it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved. The suspect vehicle remains outstanding.
