Erin Brockovich is now taking on Big Tech's data centers, launching a new map that tracks data centers and their environmental and community impact across the U.S.

Erin Brockovich, the environmental activist best known for her fight against contaminated water in Hinkley, California, is now turning her attention to Big Tech’s data centers.

According to Yahoo News, she has launched a website called brockovichdatacenter com, which features a crowdsourced map tracking existing, under‑construction, and proposed AI‑focused data centers across the United States. The platform allows residents to submit reports about projects in their communities, highlighting concerns about water use, electricity demand, noise pollution, and e‑waste.

Brockovich argues that these facilities consume enormous amounts of electricity and water, often straining local resources while providing few permanent jobs. Communities have raised alarms about rising utility bills, water shortages, and constant noise from cooling systems. She has also criticized the secrecy surrounding these projects.

This marks a new chapter in Brockovich’s activism. Just as she once fought PG&E over poisoned water, she is now positioning herself as a watchdog over Big Tech’s AI boom, amplifying community voices and demanding accountability for the environmental costs of data centers.
