Bike Park Restroom is Finally Open . . . or Is It?

I remember watching the Sweetwater Bike Park restroom get delivered months ago . . . maybe six months. I watched anxiously for the work to finish so that I could inform the public that the restroom was finally available.
It was like watching paint dry.
Days turned into weeks turned into months. I've never seen work go on for so long.
Finally, the protective fencing around the restroom was unlocked and I stopped by on Tuesday to capture these photos for you.

The parking lot is completed and a new handicapped parking slab has been poured. Sidewalks were added entering the park and to the restroom door. Decorative trash containers are now present to capture all those throwaway items. New signage has been supplemented (see top banner) with necessary phone numbers.
It looks fantastic! And then I read the signs posted on the door.

What? Though finally completed, it's not able to be used. Well that's a big waste of money.
Much like them closing down half the bathrooms in Mission Bay Park and Fiesta Island.
A Common Sense reader told me that their family had difficulty finding open restrooms and play areas at California rest stops on a recent RV trip.
I guess we'll be going back to the old days when a bushy area or the side of the road would suffice.
