Ballot Drop Boxes Now Open for District 1 Special Election

Voting is officially underway for the Special General Election in District 1.


Voters can now return their mail ballot at any of the 29 official drop box locations throughout the district. Drop boxes are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and will close promptly at 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, July 1.


You can also vote in person. Early voting is available now at the Registrar of Voters office in Kearny Mesa, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.


Starting Saturday, June 21, select vote centers will be open across the district, with all 13 locations open on Election Day.


Ballots must be signed and returned by mail, to a drop box, or at any vote center by 8 p.m. on July 1.
