California comes in with the most homeless ... 187,100. New York follows with 150,000.
The map below represents "the number of people experiencing homelessness on one night, counted in January of 2024. The point-in-time figures may undercount unsheltered populations, people couch-surfing or those avoiding contact."
The U.S. Virgin Islands had the lowest count with only 300.
