A woman has been arrested after a search warrant linked her to thefts and burglaries at a retirement facility in the South Bay.
On October 2, 2025, detectives from the Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation, along with deputies from the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) team and the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail (SED), served a search warrant at an apartment located in the 4200 block of Bonita Road in Bonita.
The warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into a series of grand thefts and burglaries at the Pacifica Bonita Villas Retirement Facility located in the 3400 block of Bonita Road.

The investigation identified Tania Soliven (DOB 09/07/1974), a housekeeper employed at the retirement facility, as a person of interest. She was linked to multiple thefts that occurred on the third floor, where she was assigned to work. The thefts involved approximately $50,000 worth of jewelry and collectible coins that were stolen from five elderly victims.
Soliven was detained during the service of the search warrant. Detectives recovered multiple items of suspected stolen property and personal-use narcotics. Soliven was arrested and booked into Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on charges related to possession of ammunition and narcotics.
During the search, detectives opened a gun safe located inside the residence. Inside, they discovered:
Five handguns
One rifle
Ammunition
Methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe
It was determined that one handgun and a rifle were unregistered. Detectives also seized hundreds of pieces of suspected stolen jewelry and valuable collector coins.
In total, the search warrant resulted in the seizure of:
Firearms and ammunition
Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia
Several computers and cellphones
Suspected stolen property, including jewelry and coins
This investigation is ongoing. If you currently reside or have a family member living at the Pacifica Bonita Villas Retirement Facility and believe you/they may have been a victim of theft, contact the Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation at (619) 498-2400.
